The Boryeong Mud Festival
The Boryeong Mud Festival has been held for many years in the South Korean coastal region, near the city of Boryeong! The festivities last about ten days and are held in mid-July. With now up to two million visitors annually, the festival is one of the largest events in the country.
The mud festival is especially popular with young participants. At the local beach of Boryeong, the so-called Mud Experience Land is built out of tons of mud. There, visitors enjoy numerous attractions such as mud swimming, slides and wrestling in the mud, enjoy soothing massages or health treatments.
In addition, numerous live acts will take place as part of the event. Dance and music performances and concerts - e.g. by well-known K-pop bands - are just part of the varied supporting program.
